    Pierced For Our Transgressions
The belief that Jesus died for us, suffering the wrath of his own Father in our place, has been the wellspring of hope for countless Christians through the ages. However, with an increasing number of theologians, church leaders, and even popular Christian books and magazines questioning this doctrine, which naysayers have described as a form of “cosmic child abuse,” a fresh articulation and affirmation of penal substitution is needed. And Jeffery, Ovey, and Sach have responded here with clear exposition and analysis. This Book is a MUST READ. The cost is only $25.00 + $4.00 S/H

That poorly sung song is an inversion of what they should be singing! The original words can draw the Christian to give the answer to a lost world, but this inverted version spells death to the singer without them knowing it!

I think when Jay Bakker was talking about "fictitional characters being gay" he was referring to Jerry Falwell when spoke about the purple Teletubby introducing gay symbolism to children. The story was spun in the media to make it seem like Falwell was being nutty and claiming that the kids' show character was gay. In reality, the purple character with the triangle head ornament had been adopted as a gay icon for sometime before Falwell spoke of it, and Falwell was not alleging that the character had a gay lifestyle, but that his creators had purposely outfitted him with gay symbols and affectations.
I think rather than speaking of Ruth and Naomi, or David and Jonathan, he was just rehashing a tired old feud from the last generation. Sad kinda.

"he was referring to Jerry Falwell "

    You bet he was.

Standard progressive talking points...he isn't even creative and clever.

He probably wears a Che T-Shirt too and thinks he is "hip."

    Lame.
