Chris,
We have a word for the type of biblical training that GCC needs: Confirmation. At my church, my children over the course of three years will have classes on Old and New Testament, the Creeds, Baptism, Communion, Confessions, Lord's Prayer, Worship. This is the type of biblical training GCC needs. I really wonder what they were "teaching" those new to the faith.
Also, there is no such thing as "head knowledge" and "heart knowledge". This is a false notion.
